Our Story
In November of 2024, my sister Lisa Hock — founder of Huntington Fine Arts and the heart of this studio — passed away. It's impossible to put into words how much she meant to this place and to all of us.
Lisa built something truly special here, and I feel incredibly honored to carry forward the dream she worked so hard to create. In her seventeen years as Director, she inspired hundreds of young artists to chase their dreams, work hard, and have fun doing it.
I'll be the first to admit: I'm not the artist in the family. But I've brought in a team of talented, passionate individuals who are here to make sure Huntington Fine Arts continues to thrive. They bring fresh energy, serious expertise, and the same commitment to excellence that Lisa was known for.

Bill received his BFA in painting from the University of Massachusetts, his MFA in painting from the University of Iowa, and an MA in Art History and Criticism from Stony Brook University. He completed his graduate studies at the University of Iowa on a full, two-year Iowa Arts Fellowship, awarded to support dedicated studio research and practice.
In his artistic practice, he draws a subject hundreds of times before painting, allowing the subject to take on a life of its own.
Bill has interviewed and written catalog essays online and in print for major figures in the art scene, including world-renowned painter Eddie Martinez, pivotal art world figure Amir H. Fallah, and the head of Yale's graduate painting program Anoka Faruqee.
Painter, printmaker, creative director, and educator. His artwork is held in both public and private collections in Europe and the U.S., and he has worked as a creative director for some of the media industry's leading brands. Karl has taught drawing, painting, printmaking, and design at institutions across the U.S. and the U.K., and brings a dynamic blend of vision, professionalism, and artistic excellence to our studio.
