Long Island Portfolio Day

LONG ISLAND PORTFOLIO DAY 2019

Friday October 25th

Long Island Portfolio Day is held each year in conjunction with National Portfolio Day in New York City.  Please check our Calendar under CLASS INFORMATION for this year’s date.

Chairpersons, deans, faculty and representatives from thirty of the most prestigious colleges, universities and art schools come to Huntington Fine Arts to meet our students on Portfolio Day. Our high school seniors who are part of HFA College Prep Portfolio Program exhibit their work and will meet with representatives individually to discuss their portfolio. Each senior will have their own display to be critiqued and evaluated The representatives spend time with each senior Portfolio Program student at their space discussing the school they represent, answering any questions about their programs and evaluating the student’s work.  This dialogue provides valuable insight into any requirements the school may have, as well as the quality and direction of the student’s work.  It is a way for HFA students to learn more about their own art, while getting acquainted with the college atmosphere and making contacts at schools that are high on their priority list.  .  Additionally, high school art directors, teachers and guidance counselors from over 50 Long Island high school districts are invited to send their art students to this event.

The following evening, Huntington Fine Arts will host Senior Portfolio Exhibit for students, family, friends and faculty.
